Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

The first Flecktones album, Warner Brothers. This is the first album the band recorded. The musicians are Howard Levy on harmonica and keyboards, Future Man on synth-axe drumitar, Victor Lemonte Wooten on electric bass and Bela Fleck on banjo. It was recorded in seven days in 1989 using Bela's own funds and later sold to Warner Brothers Records. The band had no concrete plans to tour or be a full time band at this time, it was just a creative project for the music's own sake.

UFO TOFU

The third Flecktones album, Warner Brothers. Recorded in 1992, the title cut was inspired by Baby Gramps' song "Palindromes, Palindromes, Where Do You Roam." "UFO-Tofu" is a tune that has sections that are played forward and backwards in various combinations, making musical palindromes. "Sex in a Pan" was written by Victor and named by Howard after a dessert that was fed to the guys in North Carolina. Victor dedicated the tune to James Brown.
