Zach Newton Monitor World ![]() Zach runs monitor world for the 'Tones on stage. For the last few years we have been using 'In the Ear' monitors. Instead of having speakers on the floor pointing back at each of the guys, they all wear small stereo headphones. Since each band member wants to hear something different, Zach controls 4 stereo mixes, based on what each guy wants to hear. We also have two wedges onstage to fill out the stage sound. He uses a Roland V-mixing System. It has 40 mic inputs with 12 mix outputs. The extra outputs come in handy when we have a guest sit in and we need a couple of extra floor wedge mixes. We use Shure PSM Wireless Transmitters. The earphones connect to small wireless beltpacks the guys are wearing. The stereo mix is fed into the Shures and then broadcast to the belt packs. This allows the guys freedom to move around the stage (and even off the stage!) and still hear what everyone else is playing. Zach also has a couple of Behringer MDX 2000 Compressors for horns and vocals. |
