I have had the opportunity to learn from Sandip Burman, an established Indian Classical Music performing artist based in Chicago. He taught me using tabla, sitar, and voice.

He recently hosted two Master Classes for the Kansas City School of Indian Arts.

Mr. Burman is currently on tour performing and teaching Indian Classical Music with
tabla, sitar, tabla tarang, and voice worldwide. If you live in the Chicago area and are interested in learning Indian melodic and rhythmic concepts, please contact me.

but if you have a good ear I can recommend the Oberlin, Ohio show from 12/2004 as a good, simple version to listen to if you'd like to "pick-it-out"
